FOCLS (Friends of Crook Log School)

Dear all Crook Log Parents/Carers

As previously communicated, we are happy to share some updates to the Friends of Crook Log Primary School – F.O.C.L.S. For people that do not know, F.O.C.L.S is a group of volunteers who are focussed on putting on fun events for the Children and their Families and raising valuable funds to support the School and its community. We’ve love to have your support for all the events we organise to benefit our children, please join us, get in touch if you’d like to speak to us, volunteer, or help in any way!

Thanks goes again to bot Toyah Marshall & Coral Pickard who have stepped down from their respective roles, your contribution has been amazing and has put F.O.C.L.S in a great place.

Our Key Objectives:

  1. Raise money for Crook Log School & its Community.
  2. To Support the wellbeing of our children in what is a financially challenging time.
  3. To create fun events and create an inclusive community for all to enjoy.
  4. Improve Parent / Career participation – we have seen a real improvement in numbers; however, we need more to make sure we can really make an impact for the school.

Shubnah Sanjeevan - Chairperson

I’m delighted to join the PTA as the new Chairperson. I have 3 children, 2 at Crook Log Primary School, Dhev in year 2 and Ishana in reception. I work in the financial services sector. I love reading and baking in my spare time.

My main motivation for joining the PTA is to support the school and its mission to provide a calm, caring and secure environment to enhance confidence and skills to achieve a high standard in all areas of school life. I’m looking forward to getting to know more parents and building a wider actively involved parent community.

Amy Bufton – Co Vice Chairperson

Hi, I am Amy. I have two girls, Ruby who is now in year 8 at Secondary School and Bella is in year 5 at Crook Log. Family is very important to me and I love to spend time with my family, especially going away together to chill out. I have a crafty side and I definitely want to bring this to my new FOCLS role.

I have been involved with FOCLS since Ruby started her Crook Log journey in Nursery and helped at many, many events. I have decided to join the committee and get more involved in the planning of fun events for the children and their families. I’m excited to work with the team over the next two years and build on the fantastic events for family fun and fundraising.

Paul & Tamara Barnard – Co Vice Chair

Hi, we have twins Summer & Byrdie who are in Year 2. We both work full time and in our spare time love to socialise with our friends and family.

Our children love attending Crook Log and we are keen to be more involved and help in any way we can. We are looking forward to getting to know the school community, organise some fun events and raise valuable funds to help give the kids the best experience possible.

Cecilia Wilmot - Secretary

Hi, I am Cecilia and I have a son called Harry who is in year 2 at Crook Log and two much older children. One of my great passions in life is reading, myself when I have time, and with children. I’m currently using some of my time to volunteer in school hearing the children read.

I became the FOCLS secretary earlier this year and was part of the team that organised the amazing Summer fun Day in July. I’m really enjoying getting more involved in school life and meeting children and their families.

Robin Desmond - Treasurer

My name is Robin, I have two boys, one that has been all the way through the school and Jacob who is currently in year 6.

I’ve been associated with F.O.C.L.S for 11 years and at times we have struggled for numbers to put on events so please come forward and volunteer, it may not only be your time but your knowledge which could be key.
