Lunch and After school Clubs
Children's University

Since September 2022, Crook Log Primary School has been a member of the Children’s University. The programme is open to anyone from Year 3 to 6 to join.
Why did Crook Log Primary School join the programme?
At Crook Log we recognise the importance of inspiring children to seek opportunities to gain further experiences to enrich their lives throughout their time at Crook Log Primary School.
Children who participate in Children’s University have the opportunity to learn in a rich range of contexts, experience new places, take part in extracurricular clubs and attend their own graduation ceremonies. This adventure introduces children to the joy of learning, brings a sense of wonder in the world around them and develops their confidence and aspirations for the brightest futures.
What is the Children’s University designed to do?
- Encourage a love of learning and curiosity to the world around them
- Raise aspiration, self-esteem and confidence
- Introduce a wealth of new life experiences
- Build resilience and enhance motivation
- Empower children to make positive choices about their future
- Offer progression in learning and personal skills development
- Celebrate their commitment to learning by their family, school and community.
How do we deliver Children’s University?
At Crook Log Primary School, we have a wealth of lunchtime clubs and after school clubs that the children can attend and we provide links to local clubs and activities through South East London Children’s University. The children also take part in educational trips, or visiting workshops.
How are the children rewarded?
Children’s University is an award scheme for children that encourages, tracks and celebrates their participation in learning beyond the classroom. Stamps are awarded for taking part in clubs, online activities, and other activities done alone, or with the family, at home and in the local area. Children can keep a log of everything they do, and each hour of participation takes them one step closer to their next certificate
How do children Graduate?
All children who are members of the Children’s University, have the opportunity to attend a special graduation ceremony to celebrate their achievements throughout the year. The following hours are required to graduate.
